Wednesday--Spring Break

Yeah we start spring break tomorrow!! This semester is flying by!! This week we have been reviewing data analysis and statistics. We spent some time in the lab looking up data on an area we were interested in. Then we made charts and graphs for our data. Today we are presenting our findings to the class.
We took our mid term last week and for the most part everyone did quite well. Our grades are all in power school so be sure to check your most up to date grade!!

3/20 Tuesday

So today we are dusting off our trig from before the ACT test. We will be taking advantage of our gorgeous weather to calculate the heights of several objects around the building. You may work alone or with ONE partner. You are to behave respectfully as you travel throughout the building. Any bad reports and you will be doing trig calculations on paper for the rest of the week :} be good!! you may use only the ruler and protractor you are given at the beginning of class. Follow the directions as carefully as possible, and as always if you have questions be sure to ask!!

Monday 3/19

Wow, loved the fog day on Friday but it really messed up our schedule!!! So we took our test today over chapter 3...hate Monday tests, but couldn't get any further behind!!! Only just a few more days until spring break will be here!!! this semester is really flying by!! No homework this evening but this would be a great day to check your missing work and see that you have everything turned in. If not--why don't you spend some time this evening trying to get caught up. Also we have parent teacher conferences this evening. If you can tear yourselves and parents away from the beautiful weather feel free to stop by and visit with me in the HS cafe from 5 - 7:30

Thursday 3/15/12

Hope you are enjoying our glorious weather!! Today in class we did a practice test for our test tomorrow. We went over answers together. Then we spent a few minutes creating a thinking map for our methods of solving. This may be used on the test tomorrow. Have a great day!!!

3/14 Happy Wednesday!

What a beautiful day for Mid-March!! We worked on story problems today that we solve using systems (graphing, elimination, substitution). handout answer key We also started working on our practice test for our test on Friday. Be sure if you are having any problems with the material for Friday to ask for help. I can help during c lunch, after school or during reading time on Thursday!!

Tuesday 3/13/12

So Tuesday we did review over the topics we covered on Monday and Friday. We had a couple of worksheets (attached). Tomorrow we will be working on story problems, Thursday we will be doing a practice test and our test over Chapter 3 will be on Friday! Please plan ahead.

Monday Monday!!

Only 12 more days until spring break!! (School days that is). Today we reviewed a little from Friday (slope, domain, range, independent and dependent variables). Then we took notes on point slope form and solving systems using elimination and substitution. I DO NOT care which method you select to solve. notes page 1 and page 2 video part 1, part 2, part 3 assignment p 132 2 and 3, p 154 1,4,56 and p 160 1(a and c), 2 (a and b), 4 pick 3, and 5 pick 3.

If you have time tonight, check out the boys regional basketball game at home, 7:30. Come early to get a seat!!

Friday 3/9/12

So we started with a review of slope, range, domain, independent and dependent variables. Then we did new notes and did page 124 1,2 (a-d), 3,4,11,13 and 14. video slope part 1 part 2 part 3

Monday 3/5/12

Happy Monday. IMPORTANT REMINDER!! TOMORROW ALL OF THE JUNIORS WILL BE TAKING THE ACT TEST (EVERYONE ELSE HAS THE DAY OFF). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR CALCULATOR BATTERIES, EAT A GOOD BREAKFAST, AND GET LOTS OF SLEEP BEFORE THE TEST!!

Test grades from Friday are in Powerschool be sure to check them out. Today in preparation for our ACT we celebrated with a little R n R. No new assignment was given. Weds and Thursday we will be doing some additional review. If you are testing you will not have any new assignments to worry about. Just concentrate on your testing and do your best. Have an amazing Monday!!

3/2/12

Love the date today..almost 3..2..1 like blast off to the weekend. We took our chapter 5 test today. Please look at the review sheet and answers on yesterdays post if you were not here and need to get help or check yours. We spent the first half of the hour reviewing and then took our tests. No homework this weekend!! Monday we are going to have a relaxing day in preparation for our ACT test on Tuesday!! Next week will be strange with only the juniors in school on Tuesday and then only the sophomores in class on Weds and Thursday so we will get started again (with chapter 3) on Friday!! I hate that we have been jumping around but now after the test is over we should be smooth sailing from here until June. I will grade tests fourth block today and have them in the computer by the end of the day. Have a wonderful weekend!!

Happy March!! The days are getting longer! I love the extra sun light!! Today we did some preparation for our exponents and logs test which will be tomorrow. Students may use their logs and exponents thinking maps on the test as long as they are originals that they created themselves. We had a practice test that we will go over in class tomorrow before the test. I am posting the answer key so you can check your work at home if you would like. Page 1 page 2
