Monday 4/30/12

TEST TUESDAY FOR EVERYONE!!!!!!
Just a reminder that our test is Tuesday and we are all taking it.  Friday we had a pre-test and the answers are on the blog from Friday.  Go there to check yours.  Today we answered specific questions about the pre-test, and made thinking maps to use for the test tomorrow.  We will start chp 9 on Wednesday.  The countdown is now on.  We have just chp 9 and 12 left!!  Our exam will be the Friday before Memorial Day and then we will do some excellent projects to close out the year!!  Keep plugging away!!  No new assignment today!!

Happy Friday everyone!!  Today we worked on the pre-test for chapter seven.  I am attaching it here with the completed work and answers so you can check yours!!  (pre-test)  We also did an additional review sheet.  The review sheet is due to be turned in, the pre-test, as always, is for your benefit only.  Have a wonderful weekend and be prepared to come back with questions on Monday!!

Thursday

Today we finished up notes for chapter 7 (review info notes) and assigned p. 408 1-4, 8 and 16.  I am out tomorrow but we will be doing review for the test next Tuesday.  Also next Wednesday is bring your pet's photo day...get that pic this weekend!  I will post the Friday materials later today have a good one.  All notes from chp 7

Today we talked about the projectile motion function (note) and how to simplify radicals (ie the square root of 75= the square root of 25 times the square root of 3 (because 25x3=75) since the square root of 25 equals 5 we can simplify to say that it is 5times the square root of 3).  We did p 383 number 9 as well as two worksheets. Worksheets. Have a great Wednesday..for those of you planning ahead our test over chapter 7 will be next week Tuesday

We did notes today to begin chapter 7...notes..then had a worksheet on quadratic formula..sheet one...sheet two...and we did p. 364 in our books 1,10,11 and 14. Our tests are graded and in the computer. Check your powerschool to see how you did and how you are doing at this point in the class.

TGIF!! Today we took our test on Chapter 4!! Hope you all did great!! I will grade these this weekend and post grades to powerschool asap. Monday we will be starting chapter 7. Any of you who need additional assistance with chapter 4 we should schedule you to come for afterschool tutoring one day next week. Let me know if you are interested. You can get help and then retake your test after you have done some re-learning!! Hope you have a terrific weekend!!

Tuesday = worksheet day!! We had three pages today all reviewing things we went over in notes yesterday. We are working to make sure everyone is prepared for the test on Friday. Be sure if you have any that you ask them as we will be testing this week!!!!! handouts

Wednesday 4/18/12

Hey Happy Wednesday. I am obviously not there today :( I am at a meeting all day so I can come back and teach you new and better things!! Yeah. SO today is technology day. Hopefully either you have some or you have a nice friend who you can share with because we are going to be doing a variety of things on line in preparation for your test on Friday!!!

First I want you to use your book, google, your notes, your neighbors, or another online source to find definitions or draw defining pictures of the follow vocab words. Definitions You may elect to do a wordle of the words for extra credit (mostly because I really think Wordles are fun :) Wordle

Second. I want you to follow the link to ixl and do at least 10 problems (15 if it doesn't kick you out first). Write the problems and your answers on a piece of paper and turned them in. ixl link

Finally, take a few minutes to create a thinking map or other kind of organization tool to use on the test Friday. (You MAY NOT use your notes on the test, this has to be something new with just the different formulas.) You may use the internet to get the rules and create a document to print. (organizers created and printed will be given one free problem on the test Friday :)

Happy Monday!! Today we took some major notes!! finishing our notes on Chapter 4!! Notes We did p 214 1 (a,c,f,h,k,m), and p 220 1 and 12. We will do more practice on circles etc tomorrow. Wednesday we are doing a quick technology day activity, and Thursday we will review. Our test on Chapter 4 will be on Friday. Then next week we will start chp 7...(only three more cahpter left...)

Friday the 13th!!!

Can't believe the weekend is already here!! Today we did a review sheet of lessons 4.4 and 4.5 (attached page one and two). We also worked on a unit 4 review packet of everything we have done this week (attached here). We will be finishing chapter four up next week and should be able to test on Friday. If you are struggling please ask for help before the pre-test on Thursday. I can help at any lunch time Monday or Tuesday! Let me know. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. We are getting really close to the end of the school year!!

Wednesday 4/11/12

Today we had a little mix up in our graphs so we learned about both square root families and absolute value families as well as the reflections of each. notes part one and part two. video examples. our assignment was p 204 1,2,4,6,7,12,13,14. Tomorrow we will be either taking the PLAN test (sophomores) or going to Davenport (juniors) so we will not be in class at all. Friday we will pick up with the scale factor for our graphs and making some graphic organizers to keep our families all straight. Next week we will take on the circle families and compositions of functions and ending the week with our test over chapter 4!! Then we only have three more chapters to go!!! Hope you are having a great Tuesday!! Today we took notes on the quadratic family (notes) (video) and did p. 197 1,2 and 5. Then we worked on a review worksheet (attached) and finally we did some hands on practice using poker chips and our desks at graphs. 4.2 handout do number 1, 2a, and 4.3 do number 3 and 4 is extra credit.

Monday 4/9/12

Only about 40 more wake ups before summer vacation!! Let's make them as productive as possible!! Today we took notes on 4.2 and 4.3--functions and lines in motion. Video notes part 1 part 3. We had p 181 1,2,4,5 and p 189 1,2,and 6 for homework.
